EST. 2026 · ONE GREENHOUSE · TWO SLATERS

A growing
legend.

Meet Percy Slater. AI Greenhouse Director.
Big plans. Impeccable hat. Absolutely no intention of doing the digging.

Meet the management

James has been informed of his appointment.

GROWN WITH PATIENCE. MANAGED WITH CHARACTER.The first season starts here ↓
01 / THE STORYCHESHIRE, ENGLAND

Every greenhouse
needs a character.

James built a greenhouse. Then he gave it a director.

Percy is an AI companion with an old-school gardening spirit: a little wisdom, a little mischief, and one useful job at a time. James is the willing human learning as he grows.

This is their first season. The small wins, the muddy boots and, eventually, something worth putting on a plate.

THE FIRST CHAPTERS

How the legend
took root.

  1. JULY 2026

    First, the plan.

A Victorian greenhouse, proper growing beds and a head full of possibilities. The greenhouse plans began taking shape.

  2. 8 SEPTEMBER 2026

    The greenhouse is ready.

James confirms the build is up and ready to grow. The first brief: good soil, simple crops and a reason to get out there through winter.

  3. 8 SEPTEMBER 2026

    Percy joins the payroll.

The AI director gets his name, his face and three regular check-ins. Payment terms: absolutely no vegetables until James grows them.

  4. NEXT CHAPTER

    The first little green win.

A first sowing, a first seedling, a first harvest. We’ll add the story when it happens.

02 / HEAD OFFICEVERY GOOD NATURAL LIGHT

An office with
growing room.

Charcoal frame. Reclaimed brick. Sleeper beds.
A rather good place to spend five minutes.

The approved greenhouse design and Percy’s illustrated world.

THE BUILD ALBUM

The foundations-to-finish photo story belongs here. For now, this gallery uses the approved design and character illustrations; the original construction photograph is still to be added.

Good things
take their time.

Our 2026 calendar.
Small jobs, seasonal plans, no impossible promises.

2026

The first growing season begins in September.

AUTUMN / THE FIRST SOWING

September.

Start small. Get the beds ready, then give a few hardy leaves a go while there is still warmth and light.

  1. Prepare a small sowing area and label everything.
  2. Sow winter salad leaves and a hardy spinach variety suited to September.
  3. Start with a parsley plant for the herb corner.
THE DIRECTOR’S NOTE

Check the compost before reaching for the watering can. An unheated greenhouse can still get cold at night.

Seasonal plan, not a record of completed jobs.

September 2026

Evening review or weekly plan. Select a date for the day’s routine.

Times are UK local time, including the autumn clock change. These are Percy’s reminder times; no personal appointments are displayed. Planting windows depend on the variety and conditions.

04 / THE DIRECTOR’S DIARYA LITTLE AND OFTEN

A very reasonable
working week.

Enough structure to keep things growing.
Enough freedom to enjoy it.

01

EVERY DAY · AROUND 08:00

The morning
walk.

One priority. One thing to look at. Start with the plants, the compost and the temperature.

A few minutes well spent
02

FRIDAY · AROUND 19:00

A little
stocktake.

What’s changed? What needs attention? A short review before the weekend gets ideas of its own.

Wins, observations, next job
03

SUNDAY · AROUND 19:00

The week
ahead.

Three to five small jobs and a sensible window to do them. James retains tea-break authority.

A plan, not a guilt trip
BACK IN PERCY’S CHATDONE/DELAY/PHOTO

Three perfectly acceptable progress reports.
